Advancement of date for submission of passport applications under ‘tatkal' scheme will be entertained from only those going abroad for treatment or ceremony following the death of relatives, according to K.S. Daulat Thameem, Acting Regional Passport Officer, Chennai.
As the office received 400 to 500 applications under the ‘tatkal' scheme in a day, it would be very difficult to verify the genuineness of documents/certificates submitted by the applicants due to staff shortage.
Hence, he requested the applicants not to approach his office for advancement of date of submission of applications under the scheme.
